Alghero, Italy — Accademia Olearia S.R.L. has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Accademia Olearia Bio DOP Sardegna.

At the same time, Accademia Olearia S.R.L. also earned two additional 2026 Gold Awards: one for Riserva del Produttore, a medium-intensity monovarietal crafted from Bosana olives, and another for Gran Riserva Giuseppe Fois Fruttato Verde, also recognized in the medium category.

Accademia Olearia Bio DOP Sardegna is a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Bosana olives. The profile is marked by fresh herbaceous notes, with impressions of olive leaf and grass, and a savory edge that recalls arugula and green tomato. The Protected Designation of Origin designation underscores the link between Accademia Olearia Bio DOP Sardegna and the island’s established olive-growing traditions.

Accademia Olearia S.R.L. farms almost 300 acres with more than 34,000 olive trees, predominantly Bosana. Alongside the focus on the island’s best-known cultivar, Accademia Olearia S.R.L. also selects other native and national cultivars to enrich the characteristic notes and overall quality of its oils. Accademia Olearia S.R.L. has said that Accademia Olearia Bio DOP Sardegna is in strong demand both locally and in major foreign markets, where the DOP designation is associated with Sardinian quality production.

Accademia Olearia S.R.L. has been a consistent presence at the NYIOOC over multiple editions. With the three Gold Awards in 2026, Accademia Olearia S.R.L.’s full NYIOOC record stands at 11 Gold and 2 Silver Awards. The producer’s recent results include three Gold Awards in 2025 and two Gold Awards in 2024, building on earlier recognition in 2022, 2021, 2019 and 2018.

The 2026 results further strengthen Accademia Olearia S.R.L.’s position in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where Accademia Olearia S.R.L. is ranked #13 in Italy, #46 in the Northern Hemisphere and #48 Worldwide.
