Madridejos, Spain — Aceites Garcia de la Cruz has been awarded two Silver Awards at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, recognized for the Terraolive and Master Miller Garcia de la Cruz brands.
Aceites Garcia de la Cruz earned a Silver for Terraolive, a delicate-intensity extra virgin olive oil marked by fresh herbal notes, green almond and grass, with touches of artichoke and a light peppery finish. The producer also received a Silver Award for Master Miller Garcia de la Cruz, a medium-intensity Arbequina monovarietal.
The awards add to a long-running record at the World Competition for Aceites Garcia de la Cruz, which has now accumulated 12 NYIOOC distinctions overall: nine Gold Awards and three Silver Awards. In recent editions, Aceites Garcia de la Cruz earned two Gold Awards in 2025, a Silver in 2024, a Gold in 2022, three Gold Awards in 2021, and additional Gold Awards in 2020, 2018 and 2017.
Aceites Garcia de la Cruz traces its olive-growing roots back generations and has produced extra virgin olive oil since 1872. The Garcia de la Cruz family has guided five generations of professionals in steadily improving quality, a continuity that Olive Oil Times has previously documented at the family’s estate near Madridejos in Castilla-La Mancha, where traditional and mechanized harvesting methods are used during the early harvest period.
On the 400-hectare estate, olive groves sit where the plains of La Mancha meet the foothills of the Mountains of Toledo, an agricultural mosaic that includes almonds, cereals and vineyards. According to a 2019 Olive Oil Times profile, Aceites Garcia de la Cruz has emphasized organic farming practices, with a significant portion of its land lying within the limits of a special protection area for wild birds in the Natura 2000 network.
The producer has also focused on reuse and efficiency in its agronomic approach. Olive Oil Times previously reported that Aceites Garcia de la Cruz began producing organic fertilizers using pomace, a byproduct of milling, and installed soil sensors at different depths to monitor moisture and support more precise water use in an area characterized by low annual rainfall.
The two 2026 Silver Awards place Aceites Garcia de la Cruz among Spain’s most consistently recognized producers at the NYIOOC. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Aceites Garcia de la Cruz is ranked #15 in Spain, #50 in the Northern Hemisphere and #51 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
