Across its NYIOOC history, Aceites Oro Bailen Galgon 99 has earned 46 Gold Awards and four Silver Awards, including five Golds in 2025, four Golds and a Silver in 2024, six Golds in 2023 and seven Golds in 2022.
Based in Jaén, within Andalusia’s vast olive-growing landscape, Aceites Oro Bailen Galgon 99 operates in a province that produces more than 20 percent of the world’s olive oil. Since beginning olive oil production in 2005, the Gálvez family has built its work around an early-harvest calendar, completing much of the campaign by mid-autumn to preserve aromatics and structure. The family has also emphasized continuous process optimization, scaling harvest and milling capacity to protect quality within a narrow production window.
In the groves, Aceites Oro Bailen Galgon 99 follows an integrated farming system aimed at long-term sustainability. The approach includes avoiding tillage to reduce soil erosion and limiting herbicide use, relying instead on managed groundcover and careful agronomic decisions to balance environmental protection with productive farming.
The Galvez Gonzalez family integrates the various phases of production to ensure full traceability, from the formation of the fruit on the tree to the packaging and marketing of the final product, thus achieving an excellent oil. Through Oro Bailén, the family has also developed an international presence, previously reporting exports to dozens of countries.
The six awards strengthen Aceites Oro Bailen Galgon 99’s standing in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where the producer holds the #1 position Worldwide, #1 in the Northern Hemisphere and #1 in Spain.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
