Chania, Greece — Acropolis Organics has been awarded a Gold and a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Acropolis Organics.

Acropolis Organics earned both distinctions for Acropolis Organics, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Koroneiki olives. Marked by herbaceous aromas, the oil carries a green, savory character, with fig leaf and green tomato notes joined by a peppery, radish-like bite and a clean, leafy arugula finish.

The dual recognition adds to a competition record that now stands at six Gold Awards and one Silver Award overall, following Gold-winning performances in 2025, 2024 and 2023.

For generations, the Tsiriotakis family has produced olive oil, overseeing each step from tending the fields and hand-picking fruit through first cold pressing and bottling. Since 2003, Acropolis Organics has sold olive oils through fine grocery retailers in Canada, an effort that has helped connect North American consumers with extra virgin olive oils from Crete.

Founder Panagiotis Tsiriotakis established Acropolis Organics in Toronto after recognizing an opportunity to bring authentic Greek olive oil directly to consumers. The company sources Koroneiki olives from family groves in Vouves, near Chania in western Crete, an area known for its long-standing olive-growing tradition.

Acropolis Organics has also emphasized practices aimed at protecting fruit quality from grove to mill, including organic approaches to orchard care and rapid milling. Olives are milled within six hours of harvest, a tight window that helps preserve freshness and aromatic clarity.

The two awards in New York place Acropolis Organics among the most recognized extra virgin olive oils in the 2026 competition results. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Acropolis Organics is ranked #9 in Greece, #66 in the Northern Hemisphere and #70 Worldwide.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
