San Juan, Argentina — Agropecuaria El Mistol has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the El Mistol Premium brand.
El Mistol Premium is an extra virgin olive oil of delicate intensity. Crafted in Pie de Palo, San Juan, El Mistol Premium reflects a production approach focused on preserving freshness and balance, aligned with Agropecuaria El Mistol’s emphasis on quality as it works to expand production and develop export markets.
The Gold Award continues a record of success at the NYIOOC for Agropecuaria El Mistol, which has earned two Gold Awards and one Silver Award overall. In 2023, Agropecuaria El Mistol received one Gold Award and one Silver Award at the competition.
Agropecuaria El Mistol traces its identity to the landscape it set out to develop in Pie de Palo, where the farm’s namesake mistol tree stands as a reminder of continuity and patience. Mistol is perhaps the oldest tree on the farm, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, and is, along with some old olive trees, what was found when Agropecuaria El Mistol undertook the task of developing the lands in San Juan.
Since 1997, Agropecuaria El Mistol has worked carefully on the plantations, focusing on practices intended to ensure the quality of its oils remains consistent over time. That long-term view has been central to the producer’s strategy as it invests to increase output and improve profitability, while also seeking to grow the domestic consumer base alongside its export ambitions.
