Muğla, Turkey — AKG Zeytincilik Gıda Tarım has been awarded four Gold Awards at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its Granpa line, including Granpa Baby.
AKG Zeytincilik Gıda Tarım earned a Gold for Granpa Memecik (Medium), a Gold for Granpa Baby (Delicate) made from Memecik olives, a Gold for Granpa Premium (Medium) produced from Trilye and a Gold for Granpa Gold (Medium). The results underscore a broad showing across styles, with each of the four entries recognized at the world’s leading quality contest.
Granpa Baby, the delicate-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Memecik, is marked by green, fresh sensations carried by leafy and herbal aromatics. On the palate, ripe olive notes and hints of arugula are followed by a measured peppery lift, reflecting careful handling intended to preserve freshness while maintaining balance in a lighter style.
The 2026 awards add to a consistent competition record for AKG Zeytincilik Gıda Tarım. The producer’s full NYIOOC history now stands at seven Gold Awards and no Silver Awards, including three Gold Awards in 2025, reinforcing its steady performance across consecutive editions of the competition.
AKG Zeytincilik Gıda Tarım traces the Granpa brand to the first harvest from its 240-hectare olive grove in Muğla, described as one of the largest single olive groves in Turkey. According to the producer, the quality of that initial production helped draw expert attention and led to the decision to institutionalize the Granpa brand and expand its presence with a focused set of extra virgin olive oils.
