Linares, Spain — Almazara Andres Aguilar has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for MillPress Picual.
MillPress Picual is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity made from Picual olives. Marked by fresh herbal aromas, the oil is distinguished by notes of arugula and green tomato, layered with spice that builds through the finish.
Almazara Andres Aguilar also earned a Gold Award for MillPress Arbequina, alongside two Silver Awards for Seasons Chef Collection Arbequina and Seasons Picual Family Reserve, bringing the Linares mill’s 2026 results to four awards across its Picual and Arbequina portfolio.
Founded in 2009 as a modern milling operation focused on crushing the best green olive fruit available, Almazara Andres Aguilar is privately owned by the Aguilar family of Linares, in Jaén. The mill has emphasized innovation and transparency while sourcing early-harvest green fruit from the Aguilar family’s farms and partner farms across Andalusia, where close monitoring of fruit quality and tight control of milling conditions are central to producing aromatic, green-profile oils.
Almazara Andres Aguilar’s performance at the 2026 competition adds to a long record of recognition at the NYIOOC. Across all editions, Almazara Andres Aguilar has earned 34 awards, including 24 Gold and 10 Silver distinctions, with multiple-award results in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025.
In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Almazara Andres Aguilar is ranked #3 in Spain, #11 in the Northern Hemisphere and #12 Worldwide.
