Pedregais Arbequina, Pedregais Picual and Pedregais Koroneiki were recognized for medium-intensity extra virgin olive oils from southern Brazil.

Encruzilhada do Sul, Brazil — Azeite Pedregais MF Agropastoril has been awarded three Gold Awards at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Pedregais Arbequina, Pedregais Picual and Pedregais Koroneiki.
Azeite Pedregais MF Agropastoril earned the honors for a trio of medium-intensity extra virgin olive oils, each produced as a monovarietal expression: Pedregais Arbequina from Arbequina olives, Pedregais Picual from Picual and Pedregais Koroneiki from Koroneiki. Across the three winning oils, the profiles are marked by fresh herb notes, green almond and grass, finishing with a peppery lift.
Pedregais extra virgin olive oil is produced at St Joan of Arc Farm in Encruzilhada do Sul, where the producer has cited suitable climatic and soil conditions for developing high-quality fruit. The estate includes 22 hectares of olive plantation distributed across three groves, planted to Arbequina, Koroneiki and Picual alongside Manzanilla de Sevilla, Pendolino, Frantoio, Galega and Coratina.
The triple Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC adds to a competition record that has built quickly since the producer’s first commercial season. Azeite Pedregais MF Agropastoril began selling Pedregais olive oil after the 2022 harvest and has since amassed 14 total NYIOOC awards: 12 Gold and two Silver. The producer’s year-by-year record includes two Golds in 2022, four Golds in 2023, two Golds and one Silver in 2024, and one Gold and one Silver in 2025.
The 2026 results also reinforce Azeite Pedregais MF Agropastoril’s standing in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where the producer is ranked #2 in Brazil, #5 in the Southern Hemisphere and #38 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC Gold Awards place Pedregais Arbequina, Pedregais Picual and Pedregais Koroneiki among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils, as assessed by the competition’s international panel. For Brazilian producers, results at the World Competition have increasingly served as a benchmark for quality and a way to demonstrate the potential of newer olive-growing regions.
