BioOrto wins Silver at 2026 NYIOOC for BioOrto Peranzana

The medium-intensity Peranzana monovarietal from Apricena earned recognition at the world’s leading olive oil quality contest.

Apricena, Italy — BioOrto has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for BioOrto Peranzana.

BioOrto Peranzana is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity, produced exclusively from the Peranzana cultivar. The oil is distinguished by green almond and artichoke sensations alongside fresh herbal tones, with arugula and leafy notes shaping the finish.

Based in Apricena at the foot of Gargano National Park, BioOrto produces and sells fresh vegetables and organic extra virgin olive oil. BioOrto follows a strictly controlled process in all phases of production, with the stated aim of obtaining a quality extra virgin olive oil.

The 2026 Silver adds to BioOrto’s established record at the NYIOOC. Across its participation, BioOrto has earned seven awards, including four Gold and three Silver distinctions. Recent results include one Gold and one Silver in 2025, two Gold awards in 2024, one Silver in 2023 and one Gold in 2020.

The new recognition also strengthens BioOrto’s standing in the global quality landscape. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, BioOrto is ranked #29 in Italy, #66 in the Northern Hemisphere and #70 Worldwide.
