Castiglione del Lago, Italy — Buraschi Societa' Semplice Agricola has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Buraschi Frantoio dal 1966 brand.
Buraschi Frantoio dal 1966 is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Marked by herbaceous notes, the oil opens with the freshness of arugula and green tomato, with tomato leaf adding a crisp, verdant edge.
The Gold Award continues a consistent performance for Buraschi Societa' Semplice Agricola at the world’s largest olive oil quality contest. Overall, Buraschi Societa' Semplice Agricola has earned one Gold and two Silver awards at NYIOOC, with Silver recognitions in 2025 and 2023.
The Frantoio Buraschi was born in 1966 from Otello Buraschi’s passion for olive oil. While the business has grown over the years, Otello’s daughters, Alessandra and Emanuela, continue the work with a focus on dedication, innovation and care.
At Frantoio Buraschi, the mill is active from September until the end of November. After selecting the olive groves, olives are harvested at the right degree of veraison, when the fruit is healthy and intact and gives off hints of freshness.
The 2026 result also strengthened Buraschi Societa' Semplice Agricola’s position in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where the producer is ranked #49 in Italy, #93 in the Northern Hemisphere and #95 Worldwide.
