Portuguese producer recognized for CARM Grande Escolha and CARM Praemium in the world’s leading olive oil quality contest

Almendra, Portugal — Casa Agricola Roboredo Madeira has been awarded a Gold and a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the CARM Grande Escolha and CARM Praemium brands.
The Gold-winning CARM Grande Escolha, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil, and the Silver-winning CARM Praemium, a delicate-intensity extra virgin olive oil, were recognized by the NYIOOC’s international panel for quality and consistency. CARM Praemium shows a gentle profile distinguished by ripe olive character and black olive notes, aligning with its delicate style.
Casa Agricola Roboredo Madeira traces its agricultural roots to the end of the 19th century, when the family began cultivating vineyards on estates in the Upper Douro around the village of Almendra. The producer notes that its oldest vine was planted in 1966 and that it has continued to plant and refine selections of clones of traditional grape varieties while introducing organic production methods.
The 2026 awards add to a steady competition record for Casa Agricola Roboredo Madeira at the NYIOOC. Across its participation, the producer has earned four Gold and four Silver awards, including two Silvers in 2025, a Gold in 2024, a Gold in 2023 and a Gold and a Silver in 2022.
In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Casa Agricola Roboredo Madeira is ranked #8 in Portugal, #66 in the Northern Hemisphere and #68 Worldwide.
