Vallée des Baux-de-Provence, France — Château d'Estoublon has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Château d'Estoublon Bouteillan brand.
Château d'Estoublon Bouteillan is an extra virgin olive oil of delicate intensity produced from the Bouteillan cultivar. Distinguished by green fruit and fresh herbs alongside notes of artichoke and apple, Château d'Estoublon Bouteillan reflects the estate’s focus on varietal expression and careful milling.
At the 2026 competition, Château d'Estoublon also earned two Gold Awards for Château d'Estoublon Picholine, a medium-intensity monovarietal produced from Picholine olives, and Château d'Estoublon Béruguette, a medium-intensity oil produced from Aglandau olives.
Located in the heart of the Alpilles massif, Château d’Estoublon traces olive cultivation on the estate to 1489. Within the Baux-de-Provence appellation, Château d’Estoublon produces cold-pressed extra virgin olive oils and presses the fruit in the château’s mill, an approach that enables precise timing during harvest and complete control over processing.
Château d’Estoublon’s emphasis on monovarietals is rooted in the estate’s work across its groves, where distinct cultivars are cultivated to highlight their individual aromatic and sensory profiles. Pressing on-site also allows Château d’Estoublon to handle each variety separately, a practical advantage during a harvest season that depends on picking each cultivar at optimal ripeness.
Recent harvest conditions in France have underscored the importance of such timing and control. Producers across the country have contended with the effects of spring frosts and summer drought, contributing to uncertainty around volumes in some seasons, even as quality has remained a key focus for leading estates.
In its NYIOOC record, Château d'Estoublon has earned 20 awards overall, including 11 Gold and nine Silver distinctions. Recent results include three Gold and one Silver in 2025, one Gold and three Silver in 2024, one Silver in 2023, two Gold and one Silver in 2022, one Silver in 2021 and three Gold and one Silver in 2020.
The three 2026 awards reinforce Château d'Estoublon’s standing among France’s leading quality-focused producers. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Château d'Estoublon is ranked #2 in France, #32 in the Northern Hemisphere and #33 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
