Djelfa, Algeria — Dahbia Olive Oil has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Dahbia brand.
Dahbia is an extra virgin olive oil of delicate intensity made from Chemlal olives. The oil is distinguished by fresh olive leaf and leafy aromatics, with notes of pine nuts and nuts that build gently on the palate. Careful handling and precise milling preserve the oil’s clean profile and varietal character.
Dahbia Olive Oil was founded by Hakim Alileche, who continues his family’s centuries-old tradition of olive growing in Djelfa. On a 40-hectare estate, Alileche cultivates 15,000 trees using organic methods, producing extra virgin olive oil with an emphasis on careful farming and respect for nature.
Dahbia, named after Alileche’s mother and wife, reflects a personal connection to the grove and a focus on uncompromising quality.
The 2026 NYIOOC Silver places Dahbia among the world’s recognized extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Dahbia Olive Oil is ranked #1 in Algeria, #127 in the Northern Hemisphere and #131 Worldwide.
