La Cavalerie, France — Domaine de la Cavalerie has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the La Cavalerie brand.

La Cavalerie is an extra virgin olive oil of robust intensity made from Aglandau olives. Marked by pepper and spice, the oil opens with green apple freshness and grassy aromatics before building to a persistent, pungent finish.

Domaine de la Cavalerie produces organic PDO extra virgin olive oil from 4,000 olive trees on the La Cavalerie estate, a former 12th-century Templar commandery in the foothills of the Luberon within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Owned by the Ungaro family, first Emanuel Ungaro and later his daughter Cosima, Domaine de la Cavalerie has positioned its early-harvest production around green fruit, with artichoke and raw almond character and a peppery finish.

Made from early-harvested green olives, La Cavalerie is produced with a focus on antioxidant content and polyphenols, measured at 783 mg/kg.

The 2026 Gold continues Domaine de la Cavalerie’s record at the competition. Domaine de la Cavalerie has earned two awards at the NYIOOC, including one Silver in 2025.

In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Domaine de la Cavalerie is ranked #10 in France, #96 in the Northern Hemisphere and #98 Worldwide.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
