Ibros, Spain — Familia Santías has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Familia Santías brand.
Made from Changlot Real, Arbequina, Picual, Pico-Limon and Cornezuelo, Familia Santías is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. The oil is distinguished by fresh green tomato character, lifted tomato leaf aromatics and a clean, grassy edge that carries through the finish.
Familia Santías traces its roots to Ibros, a small village in the province of Jaén, Spain’s most prominent olive oil region. Since 1990, the family-run mill has focused on producing olive oil tied closely to its local landscape and traditions.
Today, second-generation brothers Emilio and José Santías continue that work, overseeing production that moves from the family’s groves to consumers’ tables with an emphasis on careful handling of the fruit and fidelity to established practices.
The 2026 NYIOOC Gold places Familia Santías among the world’s top extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Familia Santías is ranked #67 in Spain, #125 in the Northern Hemisphere and #129 Worldwide.
