Fattoria San Michele a Torri Wins Gold at 2026 NYIOOC for Laudemio

The organic Chianti estate earned a Gold Award in New York for its Frantoio extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity.

Chianti, Italy — Fattoria San Michele a Torri has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Laudemio Fattoria San Michele a Torri.

Made from Frantoio olives, Laudemio Fattoria San Michele a Torri is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. The oil is distinguished by green almond and green tomato aromas, supported by a peppery lift and a red pepper note that carries through to the finish.

Founded as an organic farm in 1993, Fattoria San Michele a Torri is situated in the heart of the Chianti region, about 15 kilometers from Florence. The estate encompasses more than 900 hectares of land, including 85 hectares of vineyards and 110 hectares of active olive groves dedicated to extra virgin olive oil production.

Paolo Nocentini, the current owner, oversaw the renovation and extension of the crops and led the conversion to organic production, establishing the agricultural approach that underpins Fattoria San Michele a Torri today.

The 2026 Gold continues Fattoria San Michele a Torri’s steady results at the NYIOOC. Across its full competition history, Fattoria San Michele a Torri has earned five Gold Awards, including Golds in 2025 and 2024 and two Golds in 2023.

In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Fattoria San Michele a Torri is ranked #32 in Italy, #72 in the Northern Hemisphere and #75 Worldwide.
