Fio da Beira LDA wins 2026 NYIOOC Gold for Fio da Beira Praemium

The delicate Portuguese extra virgin olive oil earned top honors in the world’s leading olive oil quality contest.

Castelo Branco, Portugal — Fio da Beira LDA has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Fio da Beira Praemium brand.

Fio da Beira Praemium is an extra virgin olive oil of delicate intensity. Produced from Galega and Cobrançosa olives, the oil is distinguished by fresh notes of peas and golden apple, layered with artichoke and herbs and carried through to a clean, peppery finish.

Incorporated in 2009, Fio da Beira LDA is located in Castelo Branco in central Portugal. The company sources olives from its own 485 hectares of olive groves, anchoring production in estate-grown fruit and a consistent supply of local varieties.

The 2026 Gold adds to Fio da Beira LDA’s record at the NYIOOC. Across seven total awards, Fio da Beira LDA has earned two Gold and five Silver distinctions, including a Gold in 2018 and consecutive Silver awards from 2022 through 2025.

The NYIOOC Gold places Fio da Beira Praemium among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Fio da Beira LDA is ranked #9 in Portugal, #71 in the Northern Hemisphere and #73 Worldwide.
