Perugia, Italy — Frantoio Chiodi has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Il Prezioso Raggia.

Frantoio Chiodi produces Il Prezioso Raggia as a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil from the Raggia cultivar. The oil is marked by fresh herb aromas and green almond, with berry nuances and a black pepper kick that lingers on the finish.

The production of Chiodi extra virgin olive oil began in the early 1950s, when Giovanni Chiodi purchased the old 19th-century farmhouse that housed the family’s first olive mill. Since then, Frantoio Chiodi has kept production tied to the same methods and principles, including first cold pressing of sound olives harvested and selected exclusively by hand, along with slow processing of the raw material.

The NYIOOC Gold places Il Prezioso Raggia among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Frantoio Chiodi is #81 in Italy, #126 in the Northern Hemisphere and #127 Worldwide.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
