Jaén, Spain — Fuenquesada, SL has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Fuenquesada Picual brand.

Fuenquesada, SL produced Fuenquesada Picual from the Picual cultivar in a medium-intensity style. The extra virgin olive oil is distinguished by fresh herbal notes, green almond and tomato leaf, with artichoke nuances and a black pepper finish.

The award adds to a consistent record for Fuenquesada, SL at the NYIOOC. Across its full competition history, Fuenquesada, SL has earned six Gold awards, including consecutive Gold distinctions in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, following earlier Gold awards in 2020 and 2021.

Fuenquesada, SL traces its identity to the estate and olive grove Las Fuentezuelas, where the olives for Fuenquesada Picual are grown, and to the Quesada family name. The producer’s name reflects that connection: “Fuenquesada” combines the grove name with the family surname. The Quesada family began farming olive groves in 1850, a legacy that continues to shape the producer’s work today.

The NYIOOC Gold places Fuenquesada Picual among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Fuenquesada, SL is listed among award-winning producers tracked across each harvest year.
