Seville, Spain — Goya En España has been awarded two Gold Awards at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Goya Organic and Goya Único brands.
The 2026 Gold recognition for Goya Organic and Goya Único underscores a quality-focused strategy from Goya En España, which produces extra virgin olive oil exclusively in Andalusia and bottles in Seville for export to more than 20 markets. Both award-winning entries are medium-intensity blends, balancing freshness and structure in a style suited to everyday use while meeting the strict analytical and sensory standards required for distinction at the world’s largest olive oil quality contest.
Goya Organic is distinguished by green almond and arugula notes, with leafy aromatics that recall fresh-cut vegetation and a savory thread of sage. On the palate, black pepper builds gradually, lending a clean, energetic finish that aligns with its medium intensity. Goya Único, also recognized with a 2026 NYIOOC Gold, reinforces the same commitment to precise blending and careful handling, earning a place alongside Goya Organic among the competition’s top-performing oils.
Operating from Seville, Goya En España is a leading exporter of olive oil and table olives, with certifications that include ISO 9001 as well as food safety standards BRCGS Grade AA and IFS Food Higher level, and environmental management certification ISO 14001. Goya En España produces and exports from its facilities in Seville and has accumulated more than 500 awards and international recognitions over the last decade.
In previous interviews with Olive Oil Times, Antonio Carrasco, the general manager of Goya en España, has emphasized that olive oil brands must define themselves through quality and communicate those values to younger consumers in markets where olive oil is still establishing itself as a kitchen staple. Carrasco has also pointed to the importance of maintaining Spanish origin and consistent sourcing, even when market conditions create strong incentives to change course.
At the NYIOOC, Goya En España has built a long-running record of results. The producer’s full competition history now stands at 26 total awards, including 24 Gold and two Silver. Over the last eight editions, Goya En España has earned three Gold Awards in 2019, 2020 and 2023 through 2025, with additional Gold and Silver awards in 2018, 2021 and 2022.
The two Gold Awards from the 2026 NYIOOC further strengthen Goya En España’s standing in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where the producer is ranked #4 in Spain, #17 in the Northern Hemisphere and #18 Worldwide.
