Nin, Croatia — Grupa Nida has been awarded two Silvers at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, earning recognition for Grgur and Grgur Leccino.
Grupa Nida received a Silver for Grgur, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Leccino olives, and a Silver for Grgur Leccino, also a medium-intensity Leccino monovarietal. Across both award-winning entries, the oils are marked by green almond and arugula sensations, ripening fruit character and a peppery edge that builds into black pepper.
The results add to Grupa Nida’s established record at the competition. The producer’s full NYIOOC history now stands at six awards overall — one Gold and five Silvers — including two Silvers in 2025, a Silver in 2024 and a Gold in 2023.
Grupa Nida produces extra virgin olive oil from a 12,000-tree grove near Nin spanning 41 hectares. The grove is set in a biodiverse environment, interplanted with fig trees and immortelle bushes. Grupa Nida attributes the character of Grgur extra virgin olive oil to local growing conditions shaped by Dalmatian soil and the coastal climate, including sun, salt and wind from the slopes of Velebit.
