Santiago, Chile — Las Gaitas has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Agrovivo.

Agrovivo is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Distinguished by bitter almond notes alongside fennel, green tomato and fresh-cut grass, Agrovivo reflects careful agronomic management and rapid processing designed to preserve aromatic clarity and balance.

Las Gaitas produces Agrovivo at Hacienda Chorombo, an agro-industrial complex spanning approximately 5,000 hectares located 90 kilometers west of Santiago and 60 kilometers from Chile’s two main export ports, Valparaíso and San Antonio. From orchards planted with Frantoio, Picual, Arbequina, Arbosana and Koroneiki, Hacienda Chorombo grows, produces and exports its own olive oil, producing approximately 700,000 liters each season.

The 2026 Gold builds on Las Gaitas’ growing record at the NYIOOC. After earning a Silver award in 2025, the 2026 result brings Las Gaitas’ overall NYIOOC history to one Gold and one Silver.

The NYIOOC Gold places Agrovivo among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Las Gaitas is ranked #5 in Chile, #24 in the Southern Hemisphere and #98 Worldwide.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
