South Istria, Croatia — Magran -obrt za Uzgoj Maslina has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Bodis.
Bodis is a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Leccino and Pendolino olives. Marked by a clean, fresh character, Bodis is distinguished by almond notes and a leafy arugula lift that carries through the finish.
Magran -obrt za Uzgoj Maslina is a family enterprise cultivating olives in south Istria. The farm counts about 4,000 olive trees, predominantly young trees, with plantings centered on Leccino and Pendolino alongside Buza and Istrian Bjelica.
The 2026 Gold continues a consistent record for Magran -obrt za Uzgoj Maslina at the NYIOOC. Bodis has now earned six Gold Awards overall, with previous Golds in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Croatian producers have increasingly built visibility at the NYIOOC, where quality benchmarks are set by a large and competitive field. In a recent edition of the contest, Croatian olive oils placed fourth overall behind Italy, Spain and the United States, an outcome that underscored the country’s performance despite its modest production.
The latest result also strengthens Magran -obrt za Uzgoj Maslina’s position in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where Magran -obrt za Uzgoj Maslina is ranked #39 in Croatia, #99 in the Northern Hemisphere and #101 Worldwide.
