Greece — Markellos Olive has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Markellos Single Estate brand.

Markellos Olive is a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Korileiki olives. Markellos Single Estate is distinguished by green fruit character, lifted by tomato leaf and arugula aromatics and finishing with a clean note of black pepper.

Markellos Olive traces its tradition of farming, harvesting and milling olives into high-quality olive oil to 1932. Now led by fourth-generation owners, Markellos Olive has continued a family-run approach rooted in careful stewardship of the groves and a focus on extra virgin olive oil.

The 2026 Gold adds to Markellos Olive’s established record at the competition. Across its full NYIOOC history, Markellos Olive has earned two Gold Awards and one Silver Award, including a Gold in 2023 and a Silver in 2022.

In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Markellos Olive is ranked #48 in Greece, #120 in the Northern Hemisphere and #122 Worldwide.
