Salerno, Italy — Marsicani Nicolangelo has been awarded two Gold Awards at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Algoritmo PDO Cilento and Viride Coratina.
Marsicani Nicolangelo earned a Gold for Algoritmo PDO Cilento, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Frantoio olives. Marsicani Nicolangelo also received a Gold for Viride Coratina, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil made from the Coratina cultivar, underscoring a portfolio that spans distinct Italian varieties and styles.
Algoritmo PDO Cilento is distinguished by fresh, leafy aromatics and eucalyptus lift, with banana tones that carry into a peppery finish marked by black pepper. The medium profile balances green notes with persistent pungency, reflecting careful attention to processing aimed at preserving aromatic detail and structure.
The Marsicani family traces its extra virgin olive oil production to 1928, and Marsicani Nicolangelo has emphasized innovation in production, processing and organoleptic characterization.
