Siena, Italy — Mezzecrete Societa Agricola has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Olio Nece brand.
Olio Nece is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Marked by notes of artichoke and fresh herbs, the oil is layered with green tea aromatics and a green almond character that carries through to a clean, balanced finish.
Mezzecrete Societa Agricola produces Olio Nece in the heart of the Tuscan Crete Senesi, in the southeast of Siena. Operated by Mezzecrete, Agricola Neci spans 260 hectares of fields, forests and olive groves along the Ombrone River.
The 2026 Gold adds to Mezzecrete Societa Agricola’s established record at the NYIOOC. Across the competition’s recent editions, Mezzecrete Societa Agricola has earned four Gold and two Silver awards, including Gold awards in 2025, 2021 and 2017, as well as Silver awards in 2024 and 2014.
The NYIOOC Gold places Olio Nece among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Mezzecrete Societa Agricola is ranked #31 in Italy, #71 in the Northern Hemisphere and #73 Worldwide.
