Grintovec, Slovenia — Morgan has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Cuvee brand.

Cuvee is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Marked by fresh herbal tones, almond and tomato leaf, Cuvee reflects Morgan’s focus on harvesting fruit by hand at optimum ripeness and moving quickly from grove to extraction to preserve aromatic clarity.

Morgan produces organic extra virgin olive oils from olives grown in its own groves, where the indigenous Istrska Belica cultivar makes up the majority of the plantings, complemented by a few other varieties. In Grintovec, Franc Morgan planted his first trees three decades ago, with organic production as a goal from the outset, a choice that helped make Morgan one of Slovenia’s early organic olive oil producers.

The 2026 Gold continues a strong record at the World Competition for Morgan. In total, Morgan has earned nine Gold Awards at NYIOOC, with wins spanning 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025 and now 2026.

In recent years, Slovenian producers have faced challenging conditions that tested both grove management and timing in the mill. Even as national production has fluctuated, Morgan has remained among the country’s most consistent award winners, contributing to Slovenia’s growing visibility on the global quality stage.

The latest recognition also strengthens Morgan’s standing in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where Morgan is ranked #1 in Slovenia, #59 in the Northern Hemisphere and #60 Worldwide.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
