Athens, Greece — Nacaro Foods has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Yiayia and Friends brand.
Yiayia and Friends is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity made from Koroneiki olives. The oil is distinguished by a fresh herbal character, bitter almond nuances and a ripe-olive sensation that carries through the finish.
Through Yiayia and Friends, Nacaro Foods has developed a multifaceted gastronomy-related project that reimagines food products alongside design objects and epicurean artifacts infused with joy and a sense of humor. Yiayia and Friends focuses on traditional production and a selective approach to sourcing, working with small producers and family farms in Crete and the Peloponnese to bring olive oil and other foodstuffs to market.
The 2026 Silver adds to Nacaro Foods’ growing track record at the NYIOOC. Overall, Nacaro Foods has earned two Silver Awards at the competition, following a Silver recognition in 2025.
The result also boosts Nacaro Foods’ standing in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where Nacaro Foods is ranked #34 in Greece, #97 in the Northern Hemisphere and #99 Worldwide.
