Radišići, Bosnia and Herzegovina — Obitelj Medić has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Risto brand.
Risto is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Produced in Radišići, in the Ljubuški area, Risto is distinguished by fresh notes of leaf and grass, complemented by green almond and a measured black pepper finish.
Obitelj Medić planted 250 olive trees on a single hectare in Radišići and cultivates a diverse mix of varieties. Italian cultivars such as Leccino and Frantoio grow alongside local Croatian varieties including Istarska Bjelica, Laventinka and Oblica. Obitelj Medić has emphasized meticulous care in the grove, a focus that has contributed to the quality of its olive oils.
The NYIOOC Gold places Risto among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Obitelj Medić is ranked #8 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, #126 in the Northern Hemisphere and #128 Worldwide.
