Podgorica, Montenegro — Odiva has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Odiva brand.
Odiva is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Produced primarily from Koroneiki olives, Odiva is distinguished by peppery sensations alongside green almond, ripe olive and buttery notes, with sage-like herbal accents that carry through the finish.
Odiva draws its name from an old Montenegrin word for a young woman leaving her home to bring joy to another. Odiva’s olive groves stretch along the lower course of the Morača River, where the producer cultivates 13,000 olive trees.
Odiva is made as a careful blend of several varieties—Koroneiki, Arbequina and Arbosana—selected to achieve the distinctive scent, flavor and overall character associated with Odiva. Odiva produces the oil using a mill equipped with state-of-the-art machinery from the Italian manufacturer Pieralisi.
The 2026 NYIOOC Gold places Odiva among the world’s most highly regarded extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Odiva is ranked #2 in Montenegro, #126 in the Northern Hemisphere and #127 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
