Sparta, Greece — Olea Estates has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Olea Gold brand.

Olea Gold is an extra virgin olive oil of delicate intensity made from Koroneiki olives. The oil is distinguished by a fresh, green profile marked by artichoke and leafy aromatics, layered with herbs and rounded out by a gentle black pepper note. Hand harvesting at a precise stage of ripeness and pressing without delays help preserve the oil’s clarity, balance and natural freshness.

Produced in the valley of Sparta, Olea Gold reflects a longstanding family tradition. Olea Estates traces its olive growing and olive oil production to the Chronis family, which has worked the same groves since 1856. Olea Estates operates with a farm-to-table approach and emphasizes single-variety production from Koroneiki olives grown in its Spartan valley groves, with a focus on organic extra virgin olive oil and careful processing intended to protect nutrients and antioxidants.

The 2026 Silver adds to Olea Estates’ established record at the NYIOOC. Across the producer’s full competition history, Olea Estates has earned three awards in total: two Gold Awards and one Silver Award, including Gold Awards in 2024 and 2025.

In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Olea Estates is ranked #33 United States, #82 in the Northern Hemisphere and #86 Worldwide.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
