Jaén, Spain — Oleocampo has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Oleocampo Premium Picual brand.
Oleocampo Oleocampo Premium Picual is a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Picual olives. The oil is distinguished by ripe banana and golden apple tones layered over fresh grass, delivering a clean, structured profile that reflects careful fruit selection and attentive processing.
Founded in 1994 in Jaén, Oleocampo has grown into a widely recognized name in Spanish olive oil, combining experience and know-how in national and international marketing. The cooperative has built a reputation in its home province and beyond by focusing on consistent quality and by supporting its farmer members through challenging seasons in Andalusia’s main olive-growing zone.
Recent campaigns in southern Spain have been shaped by prolonged heat and limited rainfall, conditions that have reduced production and increased pressure on groves across the region. In Jaén, Oleocampo has worked through these constraints alongside its member farmers, prioritizing quality parameters even when yields fell and costs rose, a strategy that has helped the cooperative maintain an award-winning track record at the World Competition.
“For Oleocampo as a cooperative, its farmer members are proud to win this award year after year as a result of constant work to achieve the highest quality of our products,” said Javier Martos García, marketing manager at Oleocampo. “The recognition provided by the NYIOOC award is always a sign of quality for customers when purchasing and tasting our premium extra virgin olive oil,” he said.
The 2026 Gold adds to Oleocampo’s established performance at the competition, bringing Oleocampo’s NYIOOC record to 11 awards overall, including nine Golds and two Silvers. The cooperative has earned recognition across multiple editions of the contest, underscoring the consistency required to compete successfully as harvest conditions fluctuate from year to year.
The award also strengthens Oleocampo’s standing in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where Oleocampo is ranked #18 in Spain, #58 in the Northern Hemisphere and #61 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
