Ruvo di Puglia, Italy — Olio Mazzone has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Mazzone brand.

Olio Mazzone crafted the medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil from Coratina olives. Mazzone is distinguished by ripe olive character and a rounded nuttiness, with herbaceous and vegetal notes that carry through the finish.

Produced in Puglia, Olio Mazzone operates as a small artisan mill, pressing exclusively its own fruit and olives supplied by trusted local producers. The family’s milling tradition spans four generations, rooted in a focus on transparency, correctness and professionalism.

That continuity is anchored in Ruvo di Puglia, a town not far from Bari where olive trees grow on hills and gentle slopes shaped by moderate temperatures and sea winds from about ten kilometers away. According to reporting by Olive Oil Times, the Mazzone-Campanale family manages about 1,000 trees spread over four hectares, and has long linked its quality-driven approach to the area’s conditions, including rocky, well-drained soils that can help limit diseases associated with stagnant groundwater.

Olio Mazzone’s current Silver adds to a strong record at the NYIOOC. Across its full competition history, Olio Mazzone has earned six awards: five Golds and one Silver, with Gold Awards recorded in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025.

The 2026 result also reinforces Olio Mazzone’s standing in the global quality landscape. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Olio Mazzone is ranked #39 in Italy, #79 in the Northern Hemisphere and #81 Worldwide.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
