Andalusia, Spain — Olivarera Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Virrey del Pino brand.

Virrey del Pino is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity, distinguished by artichoke notes alongside fresh herbs and green almond. The oil’s character is shaped by careful handling from the moment the fruit arrives at the mill through extraction and storage prior to packaging.

After harvesting the fruit, the olives undergo a cleaning process and are stored in 24 hoppers waiting to be milled within 24 hours. Once the olives are crushed, the paste reaches the mixers. From here, it goes to the decanter and the vertical centrifuges, where a first and second extraction is carried out depending on the type of EVOO. Finally, the oil arrives at the cellars for its subsequent packaging before reaching the kitchens of the Andalusian grandmothers.

With the 2026 Gold, Olivarera Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe has continued a record of success at the competition. The Spanish producer has earned three Gold Awards overall, including one in 2025 and one in 2022.

The NYIOOC Gold places Virrey del Pino among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Olivarera Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe is ranked #36 in Spain, #89 in the Northern Hemisphere and #93 Worldwide.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
