Corfu, Greece — Olive Fabrica has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for The Governor brand.
The Governor is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity, produced from Lianelia olives. Marked by bitter and green almond notes, the oil shows a fresh, grassy character, complemented by arugula and a measured black pepper lift on the finish.
Olive Fabrica traces its roots to the long-standing production of the Dafnis family, based in Corfu. Over the last six years, Olive Fabrica undertook the task of identifying its best extra virgin olive oils, aiming to eliminate what it described as a negative tradition of prior years and begin anew.
The 2026 Silver adds to a consistent competition record for Olive Fabrica at the NYIOOC. With six Silver awards overall and no Gold awards to date, Olive Fabrica previously earned Silver distinctions in 2025, 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020.
The NYIOOC Silver places The Governor among the world’s recognized extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Olive Fabrica is ranked #26 in Greece, #85 in the Northern Hemisphere and #87 Worldwide.
