California, United States — Olive Truck has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Olive Truck Coratina brand.
Olive Truck Coratina is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Produced exclusively from the Coratina cultivar, Olive Truck Coratina is distinguished by herbaceous notes, green almond and a bright lift of radish and chicory, with a persistent peppery edge.
Olive Truck is built around an unconventional production model: a mobile mill that brings extraction equipment directly to the grove. In an Olive Oil Times report on the operation, founder Samir Bayraktar explained how the tractor-trailer setup is designed to shorten the time between harvest and extraction, producing extra virgin olive oil in a mobile facility that can be positioned where the olives are picked.
Olive Truck’s approach emphasizes early harvesting and speed. Olive Truck selects California olives and harvests them by hand at the first sign of ripeness, when the fruit begins to turn from green to purple. With the mill parked in the grove, Olive Truck transforms the olives using on-board equipment and aims to protect freshness by moving quickly from fruit to bottle.
The 2026 Gold continues a strong record for Olive Truck at the world’s leading olive oil quality contest. Olive Truck has earned 11 total NYIOOC awards, including 10 Gold and one Silver. Olive Truck won one Gold in 2025, one Gold in 2024, one Gold and one Silver in 2023, three Gold in 2022 and three Gold in 2020.
The latest result also positions Olive Truck among the top-performing producers tracked by the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where Olive Truck stands at #17 in the United States, #50 in the Northern Hemisphere and #53 Worldwide.
Olive Truck’s 2026 recognition comes as American producers continue to increase their presence at the NYIOOC, following recent years in which the United States has posted strong results at the competition.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
