Croatia — Olivo Monte Cucco has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Oliva Lucia brand.
Olivo Monte Cucco produced Oliva Lucia as a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil, distinguished by a green, savory profile that recalls artichoke and arugula, layered with olive leaf and green almond, and finished with a steady peppery sensation.
Located in the heart of Croatia’s north Istrian Peninsula, Olivo Monte Cucco has been owner-operated since its beginnings 20 years ago. The olive grove was originally carved out of virgin forest and has been organic since its inception, reflecting a long-running focus on growing and milling practices aimed at preserving freshness and character. Olivo Monte Cucco operates online through the Oliva Lucia website.
The 2026 Gold adds to a consistent record at the NYIOOC for Olivo Monte Cucco. Across its full competition history, Olivo Monte Cucco has earned four Gold Awards and three Silver Awards, including Golds in 2025 and 2024, as well as earlier recognition in 2018, alongside Silver Awards in 2019 and 2017.
In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Olivo Monte Cucco is ranked #16 in Croatia, #68 in the Northern Hemisphere and #72 Worldwide.
