Croatia — OPG Beaković Mauricio has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Beaković brand.
Beaković is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity, made from Buza olives. Marked by herbaceous aromatics, the oil carries impressions of fig leaf and chicory, layered with almond and a clean peppery finish. Careful handling from harvest through extraction helps preserve the freshness and balance that define Beaković.
OPG Beaković Mauricio traces its origins to a family project that began in 1995, when Mauricio’s father planted his first olive trees. As the grove expanded, so did the family’s commitment to olive growing, a passion passed on to the next generation. In 2010, Mauricio founded OPG Beaković Mauricio to produce, sell and taste high-quality extra virgin olive oil. The producer’s work is shared through the Beaković olive oil website.
The 2026 Gold continues a consistent record at the NYIOOC for OPG Beaković Mauricio, which has earned four Gold awards overall. In recent editions of the competition, OPG Beaković Mauricio received Gold awards in 2025, 2024 and 2021.
The NYIOOC result places OPG Beaković Mauricio among the world’s most recognized extra virgin olive oil producers. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, OPG Beaković Mauricio is ranked #23 in Croatia, #76 in the Northern Hemisphere and #79 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
