The Croatian producer earned its third career Gold award at the world’s leading olive oil quality contest.

Hvar, Croatia — OPG Garmica has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Garmica.
Garmica is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Produced primarily from the Levantinka cultivar, the oil is distinguished by fresh herbal notes that recall rosemary and olive leaf, followed by a clean black pepper sensation that builds on the finish.
OPG Garmica traces its origins to 2016, when the family planted olive trees in its grove dominated by autochthonous Croatian varieties. With Levantinka forming the foundation of the orchards alongside Oblica, the groves on the island of Hvar are largely small parcels planted on karst terrain, a combination that requires careful maintenance and results in limited quantities of high-quality olive oil.
The 2026 Gold continues a strong competition record for OPG Garmica at the NYIOOC, bringing its total to three Gold awards.
In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, OPG Garmica is ranked #26 in Croatia, #82 in the Northern Hemisphere and #84 Worldwide.
