Grebastica, Croatia — OPG Marko Bacelic has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Roko Grebastica brand.
"For us, this Gold Award is much more than a medal. This recognition is a testament to our dedication, long harvest days and hard work in the olive grove. As a small family, every bottle carries a part of our story and the values we grew up with. We are proud, grateful and deeply thankful to everyone who supports our family and our story. It inspires us to continue.," said Tomislav Bacelic, Owner at OPG Marko Bacelic.
Roko Grebastica is a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Oblica olives. Shaped by early harvesting and rapid processing within hours of picking, Roko Grebastica is distinguished by a green, savory fruitiness, with artichoke and fresh herbs alongside green almond, and a finish that brings black pepper and garlic into focus.
OPG Marko Bacelic farms family olive groves in central Dalmatia, where trees planted by earlier generations still grow today. Rooted in that long continuity, OPG Marko Bacelic has centered its work on careful hand-harvesting and swift extraction to preserve freshness and aromatic complexity, seeking an expression of the coastal landscape in each harvest.
The 2026 Gold adds a new milestone to OPG Marko Bacelic’s record at the competition. After earning a Silver in 2025, the producer’s latest result brings its full NYIOOC history to one Gold and one Silver across two total awards.
The NYIOOC Gold places Roko Grebastica among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, OPG Marko Bacelic is ranked #38 in Croatia, #95 in the Northern Hemisphere and #98 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
