Central Istria, Croatia — OPG Miro Bellani has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Bellistra brand.
Bellistra is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Made from early-harvested Leccino, Pendolino, Oblica and Istarska bjelica, Bellistra is distinguished by green fruitiness alongside notes of artichoke, chicory and green almond, with olive leaf aromatics adding lift and definition.
In central Istria, OPG Miro Bellani tends a small, elevated olive grove with a southern exposure, where calm conditions and hillside terrain shape the growing season. After hand picking, OPG Miro Bellani brings the fruit directly to a nearby mill, prioritizing a swift transition from harvest to extraction.
For the family behind OPG Miro Bellani, the award continues a record of consistent results at the NYIOOC. Across its participation, OPG Miro Bellani has earned four Gold Awards, including one Gold each in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The 2026 NYIOOC Gold places Bellistra among the world's elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, OPG Miro Bellani ranks #22 in Croatia, #77 in the Northern Hemisphere and #79 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
