Nemira, Croatia — OPG Neven Kovačić has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Sise brand.
Sise is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity, distinguished by a green, savory character marked by arugula. The measured approach to harvest timing and milling helps preserve freshness and balance, aligning the oil’s aromatic lift with a clean, persistent finish.
OPG Neven Kovačić is based in Nemira, a small settlement in the town of Omiš on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast. Neven Kovačić began working with olive trees in 2006 and has devoted nearly two decades to olive cultivation and extra virgin olive oil production as part of a family farm.
Over the years, OPG Neven Kovačić has built a steady record at the NYIOOC. The 2026 Gold adds to an overall competition history of two Gold Awards and one Silver Award.
The NYIOOC Gold places Sise among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, OPG Neven Kovačić is ranked #35 in Croatia, #90 in the Northern Hemisphere and #93 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
