Skradin, Croatia — OPG Periša has been awarded two Gold Awards at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Periša Blend and Periša Oblica.
OPG Periša, a family-run olive oil producer based near Skradin in the village of Krković, earned the top honors for two medium-intensity extra virgin olive oils, extending the producer’s record at the competition to four awards overall: two Gold and two Silver. OPG Periša previously won one Silver in 2025 and one Silver in 2024.
Periša Oblica, produced from the Oblica cultivar, is marked by a clear, green herbal character, with notes that recall olive leaf and chicory, followed by a peppery lift and a radish-like bite that builds through the finish. Periša Blend, also recognized with a Gold, shares the medium-intensity profile that judges have rewarded, delivering a similarly fresh, herb-driven expression shaped by careful handling of the fruit.
Working with organic practices, OPG Periša handpicks olives at peak ripeness and cold-presses them fresh to keep flavors precise and true to the grove. The approach emphasizes timely harvest and rapid milling, aiming to preserve aromatic clarity and the balance of bitterness and pungency associated with high-quality extra virgin olive oil.
The two Gold Awards place OPG Periša among the leading producers in this year’s results. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, OPG Periša is ranked #23 in Croatia, #76 in the Northern Hemisphere and #79 Worldwide.
