Rakalj, Croatia — OPG Provaža has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Provaža Blend brand.

Provaža Blend is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity produced from Leccino, Buza and Pendolino olives. The oil is distinguished by artichoke and herb notes, fresh leafiness and an unripe, green-fruit character, finishing with a clear black pepper pungency.

OPG Provaža is a family-run agricultural holding in Rakalj, in Istria, where the family has produced olive oil for generations on hills overlooking Raša Bay. OPG Provaža cultivates the groves organically, relies on hand-harvesting and uses cold-pressed extraction to protect aroma, flavor and nutrients. Rooted in traditional methods and respect for the land, OPG Provaža has built its work around the distinctive Istrian landscape and a focus on quality and sustainability.

"To us, this isn't just a trophy. It is a tribute to four generations of my family who have worked the land in Rakalj, Istria, Croatia," said Sergio Frančula, Owner. "To see our small family holding recognized on a global stage amongst 10,000 entries is a testament to the fact that when tradition meets quality, the results are world-class."

The NYIOOC Gold places Provaža Blend among the world's elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, OPG Provaža is ranked #54 in Croatia, #124 in the Northern Hemisphere and #128 Worldwide.
