OPG Turinela wins Gold at 2026 NYIOOC for Turinela Premium Selection
The robust-intensity Croatian extra virgin olive oil earned the award in its seventh consecutive Gold-winning NYIOOC appearance.

Mali Turini, Croatia — OPG Turinela has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Turinela Premium Selection brand.

OPG Turinela produced Turinela Premium Selection as an extra virgin olive oil of robust intensity. Marked by green pepper aromas and a fresh, green-fruit character, Turinela Premium Selection develops into notes of green almond and apple, finishing with a firm, lingering pungency. OPG Turinela attributed the style and stability of Turinela Premium Selection to an early harvest approach that preserves freshness while contributing to higher polyphenol content, alongside low acidity.
Turinela Farm is a boutique family-run agricultural estate of the Volarević family, set on the green hills of Mali Turini in eastern Istria at an altitude of 250 meters. With 1,100 olive trees and 400 hazelnut trees, Turinela Farm has focused on building a small-scale agricultural operation centered on quality-driven production.
The 2026 Gold adds to OPG Turinela’s established track record at the NYIOOC, where the producer has earned seven Gold awards and no Silver awards overall. OPG Turinela previously won a Gold in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, making the 2026 result the seventh Gold in total.
