Olive Oil Times — United States — Organic Roots has been awarded two Silvers at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Organic Roots Arbequina and Organic Roots Koroneiki.
Organic Roots earned a Silver for Organic Roots Arbequina, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Arbequina olives. Organic Roots also received a Silver for Organic Roots Koroneiki, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Koroneiki olives.
Established in 1983, Organic Roots is a family-owned and operated farm that began by growing and milling organic rice before venturing into organic olive cultivation. Organic Roots emphasized hands-on control from harvest through milling, moving fruit fresh from the groves to an Alfa Laval olive press to manage each step of production and maintain quality standards for organic extra virgin olive oil.
The two awards add to Organic Roots’ record at the NYIOOC. Across its participation, Organic Roots has earned 17 total distinctions, including nine Gold and eight Silver awards. In recent seasons, Organic Roots won two Gold awards in 2025 and a Silver in 2024, following a strong showing in 2022 with two Gold and one Silver awards.
