Barletta, Italy — Paparella Salvatore e Francesco has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Lolio Coratina brand.

Lolio Coratina is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity, made exclusively from the Coratina cultivar. Marked by notes of artichoke and green almond, the oil carries herbaceous nuances and develops into a spicy profile with red chili pepper and a lingering warmth.

Paparella Salvatore e Francesco traces its milling tradition to Frantoio Paparella, founded in 1891 and recognized as one of the oldest active oil mills in Puglia. The olives are harvested by hand when they reach the right maturation and milled in less than 12 hours, a rapid turnaround intended to preserve the fruit’s organoleptic characteristics. Frantoio Paparella produces Lolio extra virgin olive oil following the passion of the family and the authentic taste of Puglia.

The 2026 Gold continues Paparella Salvatore e Francesco’s record at the NYIOOC, where it has earned three Gold Awards with no Silvers, including Gold-winning results in 2025 and 2019.

In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Paparella Salvatore e Francesco is ranked #50 in Italy, #89 in the Northern Hemisphere and #93 Worldwide.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
