Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina — Podrumi Vukoje 1982 has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Vukoje Selekcija Frantoio brand.
Podrumi Vukoje 1982 also earned three additional Gold Awards at the 2026 NYIOOC, with judges recognizing Vukoje Selekcija (Medium), Vukoje selekcija Bianchera (Medium) produced from the Bianchera cultivar, and Vukoje Selekcija Leccino (Medium) made from Leccino olives. Together with Vukoje Selekcija Frantoio (Medium), the results marked a sweep of Gold Awards across the producer’s Selekcija lineup.
Podrumi Vukoje 1982 produced the medium-intensity Vukoje Selekcija Frantoio from Frantoio olives, delivering a clean, green profile distinguished by herbal notes, green almond and olive leaf, followed by a hot chili sensation that builds on the finish. The balance and freshness reflect careful handling from grove to mill, with fruit harvested by hand and processed with cold extraction.
The award-winning oils come from olive groves planted in Zasad Polje more than ten years ago, where the producer established more than 1,000 trees along the old bed of the Trebišnjica River next to the vineyards. Podrumi Vukoje 1982 cultivates the groves, harvests by hand and cold-presses the fruit, with the entire production process carried out organically.
Podrumi Vukoje 1982 has built a strong record at the NYIOOC. With the four Gold Awards in 2026, Podrumi Vukoje 1982’s overall competition history stands at six Gold and three Silver Awards, following a 2025 performance that included two Gold and three Silver Awards.
The four 2026 Gold Awards also strengthened Podrumi Vukoje 1982’s standing in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where Podrumi Vukoje 1982 is ranked #2 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, #68 in the Northern Hemisphere and #72 Worldwide.
