Mypolonga, Australia — Rio Vista Olives has been awarded two Gold Awards and a Silver Award at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, led by the Rio Vista Koroneiki brand.
Rio Vista Olives earned Gold for Rio Vista Koroneiki, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Koroneiki olives. Marked by notes of pepper, green banana and fresh-cut grass, Rio Vista Koroneiki reflects careful fruit handling and a focus on freshness from harvest through extraction.
In addition to Rio Vista Koroneiki, Rio Vista Olives was also awarded Gold for Gigi, a robust Koroneiki monovarietal, and Silver for Hardy’s Mammoth, a robust extra virgin olive oil produced from Hardy’s Mammoth olives. The three awards underscore the producer’s breadth across cultivars and styles, from medium to robust intensity.
Rio Vista Olives was founded in 1996 by Augusto and Helen Lorenzetti. Established in Mypolonga, the operation has built its identity around a hands-on approach, with the growing, harvesting and pressing of olives carried out on-site.
In 2016, the Bettio family took over Rio Vista Olives, bringing what the producer describes as a passion for food and a practical focus on quality and sustainability. From grove to bottle, Rio Vista Olives has emphasized careful stewardship and a community-minded approach to sharing good food.
The 2026 NYIOOC results place Rio Vista Olives among the leading award-winning producers in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where Rio Vista Olives is ranked #6 in Australia, #40 in the Southern Hemisphere and #123 Worldwide.
