Jaén, Spain — SCA San Vicente has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Puerta de las Villas.
Puerta de las Villas is a medium-intensity Picual extra virgin olive oil. Marked by herbal tones, the oil carries the crisp bitterness of chicory and radish, alongside olive leaf aromas and ripe notes that round out the profile. The result is a balanced expression of Picual that reflects the sensory character long associated with Jaén’s olive-growing landscape.
SCA San Vicente produces Puerta de Las Villas in the province of Jaén, in Andalusia. Founded in 1966 by 100 pioneering partners, the cooperative was built around a commitment to the agricultural way of life in Jaén. That legacy continues through a governing council made up exclusively of farmers working in organic and integrated production.
The 2026 NYIOOC Gold places Puerta de las Villas among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, SCA San Vicente is ranked #68 in Spain, #126 in the Northern Hemisphere and #130 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
